Geltek-Medika received Made in Russia certificates for highly effective cosmetics

August 19, 2025

Geltek-Medika, one of the recognized leaders in the Russian medical and cosmetic industry, received the Made in Russia national certificate from Russian Export Center (REC, VEB Group) for its skin care cosmetics.

Made in Russia certificates have been received for 17 types of skin care cosmetics designed to combat signs of aging, acne, inflammation, as well as to protect and improve the skin. Geltek is constantly expanding its product range and includes body and hair care products, products for athletes, children, and even pet care products.

Over more than 30 years of its existence, Geltek has gone from a group of scientists from a research institute to a powerful production complex. Initially, the company specialized in medical products, such as contact gels for ultrasound and ECG, as well as ophthalmological products like Blepharogel. About 15 years ago, applying the same strict principles of quality and safety as in the production of medical products, Geltek launched the production of care cosmetics for home and professional use, which today has become the main focus of the company.

All Geltek products are developed in the company's own laboratory by Russian chemists using advanced global knowledge and technologies and are manufactured at two proprietary sites in Moscow and the Moscow region. Production is growing at a rapid pace: by November 2024, production volumes had tripled compared to the same period in 2023. In the third quarter of this year, the company's staff numbered about 600 employees. A third plant in the Moscow region is currently being prepared for opening.

Geltek already has extensive experience in export. Medical products were the first to go abroad. About six years ago, the company started to deliver Unipasta for attaching electrodes for head and body examinations to India. In this niche, the company currently occupies about 20% of the Indian market. It began exporting cosmetics to the CIS countries (Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Georgia), and today the products are also successfully supplied to the UAE, India and Vietnam. At the moment, cosmetics are in the greatest demand in Belarus and Kazakhstan. The company plans to actively expand its presence in the markets of the Middle East and Southeast Asia.

According to the company representatives, Geltek's key competitive advantage is full control over the entire production cycle — from the idea to the final product. Over decades of operation, the company has accumulated vast experience in safe production according to GMP standards. Medical and cosmetic products are manufactured in the same workshops with equally high requirements, for example, water undergoes many stages of purification, becoming almost suitable for injections. The company openly demonstrates its processes, broadcasts from production on the Geltek telegram channel and maintains direct contact with customers.

Geltek’s unique solutions include a neural network Geltek Skin Assistant, a robot cosmetologist who can identify 12 skin problems from a selfie and select a complete care plan. In addition, the company has opened ten Skin Diagnostic Centers in different cities, where anyone can get a free consultation with a cosmetologist, undergo an examination and select an individual care plan with Geltek products, receiving miniatures for two-week testing. There is also a Geltek aesthetic medicine clinic in Moscow, where the company's products are actively used.

Geltek-Medica has been actively cooperating with the Russian Export Center for many years. Earlier the company faced problems with individual participation in exhibitions — it was more expensive and more difficult. Now it prefers to act as a single team at the collective stands of REC Made in Russia. The company actively uses the capabilities of the My Export digital platform, submitting applications for participation in foreign events. The company also receives permits, in particular, certificates of free sale. It confirms that the exported Russian products have all the required documentation, drawn up in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation for their circulation on the territory of the country.

It was REC that helped Geltek with entering the Indian market. The company managed to place its products on local marketplaces. In addition, REC helped find a distributor in Uzbekistan.

"Entering a foreign market is a difficult and expensive process, but if you combine the efforts of different companies and the state, investments can be much more effective. REC helps unite Russian industry under one flag, making it easier, and for some companies, actually possible, to enter international markets, exchange connections and contacts, which are very important in an unfamiliar country. And most importantly, to stream the Russian cultural code, create the RU-Beauty phenomenon. Our culture - if we talk about global goals - can help Russian business. When we talk about promoting Russian culture, we promote our values in other countries, create an attractive image that people want to be like, and thanks to this, we will be able to promote Russian goods, and therefore move Russian industry forward," Sergey Kirsh, Owner of Geltek company.

Made in Russia mark confirms the high standards and level of products developed and manufactured in the Russian Federation. To receive a free Made in Russia certificate, a company does not need to undergo additional checks by Russian Export Center. All that needs to be done is to submit an application on the REC website, attaching the necessary documents electronically, and sign the automatically generated form. The certificate is issued based on five key criteria: quality, reliability, uniqueness, environmental friendliness and organicity. For more information about the Made in Russia program and the conditions for obtaining a certificate visit the REC website.

"We expect that the "bird" will help us, in particular, in working with Vietnamese partners. This way we will prove that our products meet high standards and confirm their Russian origin. In the future, we plan to actively use this status at exhibitions with the support of the REC and to attract future partners, especially when entering the Chinese market, which is promising for us," Geltek’s representatives.
