Garnets LLC from the Vladimir region, a recognized leader in the production of gluten-free flour and baking mixes, has strengthened its position in the international arena, having received the Made in Russia certificate this year from Russian Export Center (REC, VEB Group) in the reliability category.
Garnets has become a real pioneer in Russia. It was the first to receive the right to label its products with the “Crossed Spike” sign, the symbol of gluten-free products recognized in most developed countries, the sign of compliance with the standards of Association of European Celiac Societies (AOECS). Thanks to its own production and testing laboratory, Garnets carries out multi-level control at each stage of production, completely eliminating the presence of gluten in its products.
"To obtain the certificate, we registered on the REC website, submitted an application, and provided the necessary documents. We had some questions, but REC staff promptly consulted us. In less than two weeks, we received the certificate," Anton Shilov, head of export department.
The Made in Russia program, which is coordinated by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia within the framework of the International Cooperation and Export national project, the main functions for ensuring and implementing of which are assigned to Russian Export Center (REC, VEB.RF), offers free and voluntary certification for manufacturers of non-resource goods and services. The certificate can be obtained based in five categories, namely quality, reliability, uniqueness, environmental friendliness and organicity. To obtain the certificate, the company and its products or services are not subject to additional checks by REC. It is necessary to apply for the certificate on the REC website, attaching the necessary documents electronically, and sign the automatically generated questionnaire.
The idea of creating a gluten-free production came to the founder of the company, Viktor Timofeev, in 2012, when he personally faced the problem of gluten intolerance. Understanding the urgent need of the market for safe and high-quality gluten-free products, Garnets today produces more than 60 types of gluten-free products, and the company's total range includes more than 150 SKUs, including multigrain flour, flour mixes, cereals, starches, porridges and soups. The products are manufactured using cold milling technology, which allows preserving the maximum amount of vitamins and minerals, making them not only safe, but also extremely useful.
Garnets has been exporting for over 15 years. The company's products are regularly supplied to Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Georgia, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan and Tajikistan. In the process of becoming an exporter, the company faced challenges related to the lack of information about foreign markets: consumer eating habits, competitors' product range, preferred packaging formats and features of key players. However, active and long-term cooperation with Russian Export Center and the use of My Export digital platform helped to overcome these difficulties.
The company enjoys the payment deferred insurance service for SMEs from the Russian Agency for Export Credit and Investment Insurance (EXIAR), available on the My Export digital platform. In particular, it insures deliveries to Belarus, Kazakhstan and Armenia.
"This year, we continued to use the insurance products from the REC Group. Using deferred payment insurance to mitigate the risks of not receiving revenue, the company entered into a contract with a new partner from Armenia" Anton Shilov.
Deferred payment insurance for SMEs allows companies to insure export shipments, expanding their customer base and enabling exporters to develop new markets without the risk of financial losses. A distinctive feature of the product is a fixed and affordable insurance premium, which is a key factor for SMEs when choosing insurance tools. It takes a company a few minutes to submit application. It is enough to fill out one application without the need to collect a large package of documents. The contract is drawn up within a few working days, the process of receiving the service is fully digitalized.
The Made in Russia mark is an official quality mark confirming the highest quality of products developed and manufactured in the Russian Federation. To obtain the respective certificate, the company and its products or services are not subject to additional checks by REC. It is necessary to apply for the certificate on the REC website, attaching the necessary documents electronically, and sign the automatically generated questionnaire.
