From August 28 to 30, the Made in Russia festival and fair took place at the Solana Shopping Park in Beijing's Central Business District, marking Chinese Valentine's Day (Qixi, August 29). The event was organized by Russian Export Center (REC, VEB Group) with the support of the governments of Russia and China. Over the three-day festival, over 200,000 Beijing residents and visitors attended the event.
"The Beijing festival and fair became a shining example of how the Made in Russia national brand unites business, culture, and sport, creating a space of trust and interest in our products. Such events generate sustained interest in Russian goods in major international markets and open up new opportunities for our companies in the promising Chinese market," Veronika Nikishina, General Director, Russian Export Center.
The fair featured Russian manufacturers of food, cosmetics, souvenirs, and folk art, representing over 500 SKUs from 40 companies across 26 regions of Russia. Most of the participants held the Made in Russia certificate, ensuring that their products strictly adhere to high production standards, and their quality and safety are trustworthy.
Festival and fair guests were particularly drawn to Russian amber jewelry from Ambertim (Darvin brand), as well as mammoth ivory jewelry from the Khotkovskaya Factory of Carved Artistic Products. It's worth noting that both companies participate in the Made in Russia national brand promotion program and hold the same quality certificates.
A key component of the Made in Russia festival and fair was the participation of top Chinese bloggers. Over the course of three days, popular Chinese influencers streamed from the venue, allowing millions of viewers to discover Russian products and purchase them from Made in Russia national stores on leading Chinese marketplaces. On August 30, a livestream was held with Shisan, who has a 20 million-strong audience on the Kuaishou social commerce platform. During the stream, which featured online sales, Chinese buyers were presented with Russian confectionery, alcoholic beverages, seafood, cosmetics, and souvenirs.
The festival and fair also featured a business program. Russian Export Center organized over 300 business-to-business meetings for Russian companies and their potential Chinese partners: importers, distributors, representatives of local retail chains, and the business community. The Russian science and technology company Davas Prime in just one day signed three cooperation agreements with partners: the Russian-Chinese Research Center for Digital Economy, Zhongnong Fuyuan Group, and Fengwo Ecological Technology (Xinjiang).
Renowned Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva was a special guest at the Made in Russia festival and fair. The athlete prepared a special ice show and then held a two-hour autograph session. Hundreds of guests lined up to receive a commemorative photo and autograph from the famous figure skater, K-Bao as she's known in China. Some fans even traveled from other cities to see the Russian figure skater.
The Made in Russia festival and fair also featured a rich cultural program that combined Russia's cultural traditions and modern technologies. Yar Moscow Song Theater performed on the festival stage. The ensemble presented a three-part concert with Russian folk songs and Cossack songs. Several of the performances featured interactive elements like Folk Orchestra, Round Dance, Ribbon Carousel, and Wall to Wall, in which festival guests actively participated.
Artists from Bashkortostan prepared a comprehensive program. People's Artist of the Republic and Honored Artist of Russia, the outstanding opera singer Askar Abdrazakov performed the famous songs Dark Eyes, Long Road, and Moscow Nights. The kurai, a symbol of Bashkir culture from the UNESCO Heritage List was also presented on stage, as well as the dumbyra, one of the oldest Bashkir instruments.
Prostor creative platform by VK presented the Digital Art Russia exhibition in Beijing at the Made in Russia festival and fair. The exhibition offered visitors the opportunity to rethink the role of artificial intelligence through digital art and explore the realities of software code and other complex visualizations.
At the Made in Russia festival and fair, ROSKINO organized a special screening of the educational animated musical series Colors. Each episode helps children hone their social, musical, artistic, and intellectual skills, while helping parents come up with new ideas for play.
The Made in Russia festivals and fairs are held as part of a program promoting Russian products under the umbrella brand. The program is coordinated by the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade as part of the International Cooperation and Export national project and implemented by Russian Export Center. Since 2017, the program has helped Russian companies establish themselves abroad, expand their markets, and gain the trust of foreign consumers.
The effectiveness of such events has been repeatedly emphasized at the highest level. In particular, during the May 2025 meeting between the two countries' leaders, Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping, in Moscow, it was noted that the Made in Russia festivals and fairs play an important role in expanding the range of Russian exported products in the Chinese market.
Moscow Export Center is the official partner of the festival and fair, Cherkizovo Group is the official sponsor.
