On July 22, in Moscow, a working meeting was held between Gennady Zyuganov, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, and Veronika Nikishina, General Director of Russian Export Center (REC, VEB Group). It was devoted to strategic issues of developing non-resource, non-energy export and involving domestic manufacturers in international trade.
The parties noted that the export of high value-added products is one of the drivers of sustainable growth of the Russian economy. The meeting participants paid special attention to barriers and needs of domestic manufacturers entering the export market.
"Today, more than ever, it is important to rely on the strength of domestic manufacturers. This is one of the pillars of our sovereignty. It is especially important to support small and medium businesses, develop cooperation, and strengthen trust in Russian goods abroad. We have enormous potential, especially in the agricultural sector: domestic food products are of the highest quality and are in high demand all over the world, and our agricultural manufacturers have every opportunity for large-scale exports. Export-oriented companies need comprehensive support: organizational, legal, financial. And Russian Export Center plays a key role here," Gennady Zyuganov, Chairman of the CPRF Central Committee.
The meeting participants paid special attention to the implementation of the national goal set by the President: to increase the volume of non-resource export by at least two-thirds by 2030 compared to 2023. This is facilitated, among other things, by systematic work to promote Russian products under the Made in Russia national brand abroad.
"The demand for Made in Russia products abroad is obvious but we need to help businesses unlock it. That is why we are building an infrastructure of trust in Russian export: from voluntary certification to support on marketplaces and international exhibitions. The Made in Russia program acts in as our soft power which is implemented through the promotion of culture, art, values, discourses, the Russian language, and sports achievements. More than 3,700 companies have already taken advantage of the Made in Russia program, and we continue to expand opportunities for business," Veronika Nikishina, General Director of Russian Export Center.
The parties also agreed to combine efforts to involve manufacturers in export activities so that as many enterprises as possible, especially from the regions, could take advantage of state support measures and enter foreign markets.
