Imperial porcelain in Istanbul: legendary brand from St. Petersburg enters Turkish market with REC support

August 6, 2025
The first Imperial Porcelain Factory (IPF) brand store has opened in Istanbul. It is the oldest porcelain enterprise in Russia, founded in 1744 by Empress Elizabeth Petrovna. The project was implemented with the support of the representative office of Russian Export Center (REC, VEB Group) in Türkiye.

The store, located in a modern area of Istanbul, operates on a franchise model. The 190 square meter space features both popular collections and highly artistic haute couture porcelain pieces that combine craftsmanship, tradition and contemporary design.

"Our products have previously been presented on the Turkish market, although not in separate boutiques, but in the form of corners in multi-brand stores. We expect that the first branded partner store of the Imperial Porcelain Factory will allow porcelain lovers to learn about our products in a new way and will become a driver of export growth. This market is very promising for us," Tatyana Tylevich, General Director, Imperial Porcelain Factory.

Imperial Porcelain Factory was awarded the Made in Russia certificate from Russian Export Center and is a participant in the national promotion program.

The REC representative office provides ongoing support to IPF in developing sales in the Turkish market. In the process of preparing for the launch of the boutique, the REC team provided information support and assistance in attracting attention from business audience, HoReCa segment and government agencies.

"The products of Imperial Porcelain Factory are famous for their quality and craftsmanship and rightfully embody the essence of the Made in Russia brand - both a symbol of cultural heritage and a high level of domestic production. I am confident that the store in Istanbul will be an important step in strengthening Russian-Turkish business ties and the recognition of Russian goods abroad," Timur Safin, Representative of Russian Export Center in Turkey.

Imperial porcelain is part of the cultural code of Russia, and the opening of the store has already attracted interest from the professional community and those interested in Russian culture. According to the general director of the store in Istanbul, Yana Durdu, negotiations are underway to supply St. Petersburg porcelain to large chain restaurants and luxury hotels.

The immediate plans include promoting the products among representatives of the HoReCa sector. Together with Russian Export Center, the plant plans to participate in industry exhibitions under the Made in Russia national brand.

The REC representative office in Türkiye provides support to Russian manufacturers at every stage of export, including consultations, assistance in finding partners and buyers, and promoting products to the market. Please find contacts of the representative office on the official REC website.
