Made in Russia national brand as a sign of competitiveness of certified products

September 18, 2025
Russian Export Center (REC, VEB.RF) recommends that Russian manufacturers seeking to export or increase the visibility of their products obtain certification and join a comprehensive promotion program for foreign markets under the national brand. REC Vice President Alexey Solodov discussed this in detail at a regional meeting on the implementation of the International Cooperation and Export national project in Yekaterinburg.

"The first thing Russian companies seeking to scale up and strengthen their position abroad need to do is confirm their competitiveness by obtaining the Made in Russia certificate. The certificate significantly increases the chances of successfully entering foreign markets, and for experienced exporters, it will help expand their company's presence," Alexey Solodov at the Global Prospects for Domestic Companies: Made in Russia National Brand plenary session.

He emphasized that the application process is quite simple, fast and free.

Yulia Kolcheva, Deputy Head of the Department for Agricultural Export Development at the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, spoke about Russian products popular in foreign markets and already promoted under the Made in Russia international brand.

"Global experience shows that it's quite difficult for companies to advance in markets alone, so exporters around the world are uniting under their own national brands. As for the agricultural sector, we focus on high-value-added products, such as chocolate, ice cream, meat products, and other processed foods, which already shape our country's image in the markets, thereby creating a favorable association that our products are high-quality and delicious," Yulia Kolcheva.

Alexey Solodov discussed the key tools that give businesses the chance to establish themselves abroad as part of a national brand.

"For Russian companies, Made in Russia means participation in international exhibitions, festivals, fairs, and business missions around the world. Furthermore, it includes 44 national stores on 20 key international marketplaces, where exporters can list their products free of charge. Incidentally, e-commerce sales alone will reach 3.7 billion rubles in 2024 ," Alexey Solodov.

He recalled that under the auspices of the national brand, national pavilions of Russian products operate in China, Türkiye, Egypt, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Vietnam, and a network of Made in Russia retail stores is also developing.

"One has a unique opportunity to shape Russia's image in the eyes of foreign consumers, and Russian Export Center invites companies to take advantage of it," REC Vice President addressed the business participants at the session.
