From Sakhalin mud and kvass to crab or how Sakhalin's export potential is presented at Islands of Sustainable Development: the Climatic Aspect International Forum

As part of the Islands of Sustainable Development: the Climatic Aspect International Forum held in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Sakhalin Region presented export products from local manufacturers and also held a gastro-festival using ingredients that are in demand abroad.

The event brought together the region's leading enterprises, demonstrating the potential of Sakhalin exports under the Made in Russia brand, federal program to support and promote Russian goods in international markets, implemented by Russian Export Center (REC, VEB Group).

"At Islands of Sustainable Development: the Climatic Aspect International Forum, which is being held for the first time, we held a presentation of Sakhalin brands as part of the Made in Russia program. We show our partners Sakhalin products that meet the highest world standards in order to give our manufacturers the opportunity to prove themselves in export with the support of Russian Export Center. In addition, the forum became a platform for presenting the region's broad opportunities in the field of sustainable development and climate-oriented economy," Valery Limarenko, Sakhalin Region Governor.

The key participants of the exhibition were:

- Sinegorsk Mineral Waters sanatorium, the largest health resort in the region with a 35-year history. It uses sulphide-silt mud from Lake Izmenchivoye with high content of hydrogen sulphide, iodine, magnesium and iron, as well as humic acids and microorganisms that enhance its therapeutic effect;

- SAKO+, one of the leaders in the production of sweets in Sakhalin. The company's product line includes more than 200 SKUs popular among residents, including marmalade, cookies, sugar pastilles and the only pomade candies in the Far East based on natural berries;

- Severnaya Zvezda Korsakov Beer and Beverages Plant, leader in production and sales of soft drinks in the Sakhalin Region. The company owns 2 plants in Korsakov and Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, fitted with modern European equipment for the production of beer, kvass, carbonated drinks;

- Divia-Pharm Sakhalin, manufacturer of innovative herbal preparations and food products from seaweed under the Lamina Forte brand;

- Individual entrepreneur Mikhail Petrovich Shirinsky, manufacturer of essential oils and hydrolat from coniferous trees, eco-friendly products that are used for cosmetic and health purposes;

- RPC Cardinal, implementing a project for production of biologically active additives from seal fat under Imunorost trademark.

- individual entrepreneur Ekaterina Alekseevna Maltseva, a bright representative of the creative industries of the region. She develops her own clothing TEMBR brand with the identity of the Sakhalin Region;

- LK SakhInvest, a forestry company that initiated a project to produce fuel pellets from residual products for the Korean market.

- individual entrepreneur Stanislav Nikolaevich Sushkov, producer of fermented bay willow grown in the northern regions of Sakhalin using a special fermentation technique.

- Banya 37, a manufacturer of bath brooms made from Kuril bamboo, which grows on the unique and ecologically clean island of Kunashir.

Earlier, on the sidelines of SPIEF-2025, REC Director General Veronika Nikishina and Valery Limarenko signed a cooperation agreement aimed at developing the export potential of small and medium-sized businesses in the region and providing a set of support measures for Sakhalin enterprises to enter international markets.
