Russian beauty brands are strengthening their position in the Indian market: companies presented their products at the Cosmoprof India

Russian cosmetics and beauty product manufacturers are expanding their presence in the Indian market. During Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to New Delhi, Russian companies were simultaneously operating in Mumbai, where the largest international exhibition, Cosmoprof India, was held from December 5 to 7.

Three companies represented Russia at one of Asia's key beauty venues: Geltek, Zeitun (GSS Cosmetics), and Nail Republic. The brands demonstrated high-tech and competitive solutions that have already attracted the interest of their Indian partners.

Geltek introduced professional cosmetics. The company is actively developing export activities and is already operating on two leading online platforms in India. Geltek products are certified under the Made in Russia brand, confirming their high quality.

Zeitun (GSS Cosmetics) presented a line of natural spa products that combine Eastern formulas and modern technology. The brand won the Export Potential award at the nation competition and is now one of the most recognizable Russian players in the cosmetics sector.

Nail Republic, a Yekaterinburg-based manufacturer of professional manicure products, has been successfully developing in India for several years. The company not only supplies products but also promotes Russian nail industry standards by training nail technicians across the country in premium manicure techniques.

Egor Krupenkov, representative of Russian Export Center (REC, VEB Group) in India, discussed the key aspects of working in the Indian beauty market. He explained that India is not a market that offers quick results, but rather a space for strategic, systematic promotion. In-person product demonstrations, marketplaces, and a willingness to adapt to the country's protectionist policies play a key role.

"Due to the fiscal burden, products may fall into a higher price range, but those companies that survive the entry gain access to a huge and growing market. Product demonstration, working with marketplaces, and emphasizing naturalness and functionality are key. Interest in Russian cosmetics is steadily growing," Egor Krupenkov.

The key online channels for promoting cosmetics in India remain Nykaa, Amazon.in, and Tira.

Indian consumers' interest in Russian cosmetics is driven by natural ingredients, high-quality formulas, and modern aesthetics. Consumers are increasingly seeking new brands outside the traditional Asian market, creating additional opportunities for Russian exporters.
