Agricultural exports play a key role in the economy of the Siberian Federal District, serving as a powerful development driver and a source of foreign exchange earnings. Novosibirsk Oblast, one of the region's leading agricultural manufacturers, has demonstrated significant growth in export volumes, with Novosibirsk Flour Mill No. 1 serving as a shining example of success.
It is one of the largest flour producers in the Siberian Federal District and a significant player in the export market. Flour from the Novosibirsk Flour Mill enjoys immense popularity in China, Central Asia, Mongolia, and several other countries, a fact underscored by the increasing number of counterfeit attempts.
"We purchase grain exclusively from trusted Novosibirsk agricultural producers, then carefully clean and mill it. We maintain strict quality control at every stage in our own laboratory. This approach ensures consistently high product quality, which is critical for successful export," Oleg Popravko, Commercial Director.
In addition to high-quality flour, the company exports a wide range of grains and oilseeds, including wheat, barley, rye, oats, as well as rapeseed, flax, and bran. The plant's products are in demand in Asian countries (China, North Korea, Mongolia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan), the CIS, and the Middle East, and are shipped worldwide by various modes of transport.
The company provides full support for export transactions, guaranteeing its partners the preparation of all necessary documents and the precise fulfillment of orders within the established deadlines. These efforts are yielding tangible results. By the end of 2024, mill’s export volume amounted to over 16.3 million kilograms, representing 11.3% of the previous year's total sales.
Success has become possible thanks to systematic support from Russian Export Center (REC, VEB Group). Novosibirsk Flour Mill No. 1 has been actively collaborating with REC since 2019, utilizing a wide range of non-financial services and compensation programs. Among the most popular tools are compensation for agricultural product transportation costs and access to analytical services for market research. These services are available on the My Export digital platform. The company also utilizes negotiation support services, participates in REC product webinars, and receives comprehensive consulting support.
In 2025, it took important steps to strengthen its position internationally. Novosibirsk Flour Mill No. 1 participated in the Made in Russia festival and fair in Harbin, China, from May 17 to 21. During the event, numerous business-to-business negotiations were held with potential Chinese partners. That same year, the company received the Made in Russia national certificate, further underscoring the high quality and reliability of its products internationally.
"Agricultural export is a key area of economic development in Siberia. Companies in this sector actively use REC Group's services to customize their export strategies. For example, aspiring exporters join webinars, while existing agricultural exporters participate in exhibitions and business missions abroad, and promote their products using bonuses from the Made in Russia program," Elena Bragova, Head of the REC Representative Office in Novosibirsk.
The Made in Russia mark confirms the high standards and quality of products developed and manufactured in the Russian Federation. To obtain a free Made in Russia certificate, a company does not need to undergo additional checks by Russian Export Center. A company needs to submit an application on the REC website, attaching the required documents electronically, and sign the automatically generated form. The certificate is awarded based on five key criteria: quality, reliability, uniqueness, environmental friendliness, and organic origin. For more information about the Made in Russia program and the requirements for obtaining the certificate visit the REC website.
