On August 28, the Made in Russia festival and fair was launched at the SOLANA shopping and entertainment complex in Beijing's Central Business District, featuring top Chinese bloggers. The event, timed to coincide with Chinese Valentine's Day (Qixi), was organized by Russian Export Center (REC, VEB Group). The festival will run until August 30.
Russian Export Center actively engages local influencers in the festival. Popular Chinese bloggers streams on the platform allowed millions of viewers to discover Russian products and purchase them from Made in Russia online stores on leading marketplaces, as well as from branded national brick-and-mortar stores.
The highlight of the fair will be a live stream by Shisan with a 20 million-strong audience on the Kuaishou social commerce platform. On August 30, Shisan will present confectionery, souvenirs, cosmetics, seafood, and many other Russian-made products to Chinese buyers during the stream, which will also feature online sales.
Figure skater Kamila Valieva, silver medalist at the Russian Championship, world junior champion, and world record holder, was a special guest at the opening of the Made in Russia festival and fair. She held an autograph session for fans and presented a special ice show, attracting hundreds of spectators.
The fair features Russian manufacturers of food, cosmetics, souvenirs, and folk art, with over 500 SKUs from 40 companies across 26 regions of Russia, including products from the Nevskaya Palitra artistic paint factory, amber jewelry from the Kaliningrad region by Ambertim, mammoth ivory jewelry from the Khotkovskaya Factory of Carved Artistic Products, and much more, exclusively from Russia. Traditionally, the festival features a rich business program. At the fair, Russian Export Center organizes targeted B2B negotiations between Russian manufacturers and leading Chinese importers and distributors.
"This is the sixth event in the history of our festival, which has already been held in various cities across China. But today, for the first time, it is being held in the capital of the People's Republic of China and this is a great honor for us. Over the course of the three-day fair, we will present over 500 products under the Made in Russia national brand. These include food products, cosmetics, souvenirs, and folk art from across the country. Be sure to sample, purchase, and discover the best Russian goods. Here in Beijing, we will open the first Made in Russia retail store in the capital, with high-quality, original Russian goods available daily, even after the festival. Together with our Chinese partners, we are developing retail infrastructure, creating national exhibits and representative offices, and opening permanent offline and online retail outlets. All of this contributes to increased trust in Russian goods, strengthens cultural ties, and expands our shared opportunities," Veronika Nikishina, General Director, Russian Export Center.
The festival is accompanied by a rich cultural program: performances by folk groups, national music, and dance create a festive atmosphere and make the event a notable cultural highlight in Beijing. One of the most notable groups is YAR Moscow Song Theater.
VK opened the digital exhibition Digital Art Russia at the festival. Visitors will be able to rethink the role of AI through digital art and explore the essence of software code and other complex visualizations. In their works, the artists also explore the connection between sports and creative energy, draw inspiration from the nature and culture of the Murmansk region, and reflect on the future and development of technology in the urban environment.
The Made in Russia festivals and fairs are held as part of a program to promote Russian products under an international brand. They are coordinated by the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade as part of the International Cooperation and Export national project and operated by Russian Export Center. Since 2017, the program has helped companies enter new markets and build consumer confidence. The role of events in expanding the range of Russian exports to China was noted at the highest level during the meeting between Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping in 2025.
Moscow Export Center is the official partner of the festival and fair, Cherkizovo Group is the official sponsor.
