On May 17, International Online Sales Fair of Russian Brands will be held in Moscow on the territory of Zaryadye Park. This pilot event is aimed at promoting domestic products through leading online platforms on the Chinese market - one of the most capacious and promising markets in the world.
"The development of Russian-Chinese relations today is closely linked to digital communications and innovative e-commerce tools. Particular attention is paid to expanding access of small and medium-sized businesses to the Chinese market through online platforms and joint events. These initiatives create a direct dialogue between businesses, simplify trade and promote effective mutual integration of Russian and Chinese companies into the economy, opening up new opportunities for growth and cooperation between the two countries," Anton Kobyakov, Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation.
The co-organizers of the fair are the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, Russian Export Center (REC, VEB.RF Group), Roscongress Foundation and Agency for Strategic Initiatives. The official partner is the Government of Moscow. The event is held with the support of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and is included in the program of the Years of Culture between Russia and China 2024-2025. The project is being implemented as part of the program for promotion of domestic products under Made in Russia national brand, approved this year by order of the President, as well as in pursuance of the instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin following the plenary session at Strong Ideas for a New Time forum.
"This is an important event in terms of further strengthening and diversifying Russian-Chinese trade and economic ties, expanding channels for mutual trade. We expect that this project will become a successful example of the effective use of digital technologies in international trade," Alexey Gruzdev, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.
Online sales fair in Moscow will launch the Made in Russia festival and fair, which will be held in Harbin from May 17 to 21. The events will create a single platform for promoting Russian exports through physical and electronic sales channels.
The event will take place in a specially equipped pavilion in the historical center of Moscow, where streaming will be organized, during which a blogger from China will talk about Russian goods and offer to purchase them in real time through Kuaishou international e-commerce platform.
"On the same day, a festival-fair under the Made in Russia brand will open in the city of Harbin, where products from more than one hundred domestic companies will be presented. By holding such events and promoting the national brand, we strive to strengthen the position of Russian manufacturers on the Chinese market, as well as to introduce a wide foreign audience to the cultural and value heritage of our country," Veronika Nikishina, General Director of the Russian Export Center.
In the modern world, along with organizing sales through electronic trading platforms (marketplaces), cooperation with popular bloggers and streamers is becoming an effective mechanism for promoting products and increasing brand awareness on foreign markets.
"This is the first time we are holding an event with a blogger with 110 million followers. This has never happened before. This is a new step and experience that is important for exporters, and a good example for Russian bloggers. We see a significant increase in interaction between Russian and Chinese businesses within the framework of business events, which certainly contributes to the stable growth of demand for Russian goods in China, including due to the development of modern online tools - digital channels and marketplaces. Russian companies are successfully integrating into this format, and we are making every effort to further develop it and stimulate demand for Russian products," Alexander Stuglev, Director and Chairman of the Board of the Roscongress Foundation.
Successful promotion of national brands requires not only technical solutions and the use of modern sales tools, but also knowledge of cultural characteristics and emotional connection with the audience.
"The idea of the International Online Sales Fair of Russian Brands emerged a year ago at We are the greatest competition. Young entrepreneur Yu Wei shared with Vladimir Putin his video of how he creatively promotes Russian products in China. His touching performance of Katyusha became a symbol of a new approach to international trade, where digital technologies are combined with human empathy. The President supported the initiative, and today we see how it has grown into a large-scale project with a real economic effect. The international fair is not just a trading platform, but a powerful tool of digital diplomacy. We connect the best Russian products with millions of Chinese consumers through innovative online formats, creating new channels of trust and cooperation," Svetlana Chupsheva, General Director of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives.
The Russian Export Center (REC, VEB.RF Group) is a state institution that supports non-resource, non-energy exports. It provides companies from various industries with both financial and non-financial assistance at all stages of entering international markets, including within the framework of the national project "International Cooperation and Export". The REC Group also includes EXIAR, ROSEXIMBANK and the School of Export.
