The development of e-commerce between Russia and China is a priority area for the development of bilateral trade and economic relations. On May 17, Moscow will become the center of Russian-Chinese e-commerce thanks to the first international online sales fair, which is organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, Russian Export Center (REC, VEB.RF Group), Roscongress Foundation and the Government of Moscow. The official partner of the fair is the Moscow Export Center. The event will be held with the support of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade.
In anticipation of the fair's start on May 12, a session for selection of products that will be promoted online by a Chinese blogger with an audience exceeding 100 million people was held at the Roscongress Foundation Media Centre in the World Trade Centre in Moscow.
The session was attended by representatives of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and Xinxuan, specializing in e-commerce and digital marketing, a leader in organizing direct sales through online platforms. More than 100 domestic manufacturers presented food, beverages and cosmetics to Chinese partners. Representatives of Chinese organizations noted the diversity of Russian products, their high quality and export potential on the Chinese market. In total, more than 300 popular product items participated in the selection for presentation at the online fair.
"The need to develop bilateral e-commerce has been officially established at the interstate level. Growing consumer demand, genuine interest in Russian products and the possibilities of marketplaces make e-commerce an effective tool for promoting domestic manufacturers in China, including small regional brands. The online fair, in which a leading blogger will take part, will help Made in Russia products find their consumers in China," Alexey Murzenok, Director of International Partnership Programs at the Russian Export Center.
”Online fair is a significant initiative aimed at promoting Russian brands on the promising Chinese market. Thanks to the format that we are implementing with our partners in pilot mode, Russian goods will become available to more than 100 million residents of China in one second," Igor Pavlov, First Deputy Director of the Roscongress Foundation.
"Holding an online fair with Russian goods will be an important step in developing dialogue between Moscow and China, and will become a bridge between domestic producers and Chinese consumers. Moscow is a city of opportunities, and we see the readiness of local enterprises to conquer new markets, we also note the interest and involvement of Chinese partners in promoting high-quality Moscow products," said Ekaterina Zheleznyakova, Head of the International Partnership Department of the Moscow Export Center.
The effectiveness of promoting Russian goods through e-commerce channels was also noted by Lu Min, Deputy Head of the Department for Work with Members of the China International Chamber of Commerce. He emphasized that live sales streams allow high-quality Russian goods to be delivered to Chinese consumers in a short time.
Online sales fair will be held in a specially equipped pavilion in Zaryadye Park, where streaming will be organized, during which a blogger from China will talk about Russian goods and offer to purchase them in real time through Kuaishou.
Online sales fair will be organized as part of the program to promote the Made in Russia national brand, as well as in pursuance of the instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin following the plenary session of the Strong Ideas for a New Time forum.
