South Kuril Fish Processing Plant: Fishing Giant from Kunashir Received Made in Russia Reliability Certificates.

For over 25 years, South Kuril Fish Processing Plant has been harvesting fish from the rich waters of the Sea of Okhotsk and the Pacific Ocean, transforming seafood into high-quality products bearing the Made in Russia label.

Company's main production center is located on Kunashir Island, one of the most remote and ecologically clean corners of Russia. Company's onshore processing facility operates there, processing up to 500 tons of raw materials per day and producing finished products, including fish, caviar, fishmeal, and fish oil.

The plant also has its own container terminal, a berth for vessels with a draft of up to 7 meters, and a refrigeration complex for storing 1,200 tons of frozen products.

Company's products are exported to the markets of 14 countries, the key ones being China, Japan and the Republic of Korea.

The company became the first fishing company in the Sakhalin Region to receive Made in Russia certificates for improved reliability in its key export products: fishmeal, edible fish oil, cod, and pollock.

Certification is part of the comprehensive program to promote the Made in Russia national brand in international markets, implemented by Russian Export Center (REC, part of VEB.RF). Certificates confirm product compliance with high quality and safety standards and serve as a guarantee of reliable supplies and compliance with strict production standards for international buyers. The program is coordinated by the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade.

To receive a free Made in Russia certificate, companies must submit an application on the REC website, attaching the required documents electronically, and sign the automatically generated form.

"In addition to seafood processing, we are implementing a project to produce high-protein fishmeal. This product is used, among other things, as a feed additive in aquaculture and the agro-industrial complex to improve the diet of animals and poultry, increase their productivity, and improve disease resistance," Liliya Vasilyeva, head of the commercial department, South Kuril Fish Processing Plant.

In 2025, the company won All-Russian Export of the Year 2025 competition, regional stage, in the large business and new geography categories in Basic Agricultural Products nomination, having made export deliveries to Oman for the first time.
