The popular Tomsk-made ice cream in a waffle cone has undergone REC certification. Eskimos LLC, one of Siberia's leading ice cream producers, has added a Made in Russia certificate to its achievements. Its Cream Plombir has been a consumer choice for many years.
Founded in 1993 in Tomsk, the company has grown from a small manufacturer to a large enterprise with a product range of nearly two hundred SKUs. Over the past thirty years, Eskimos has won the love of consumers from Russia and abroad.
"Our Cream Plombir has become a true national brand, captivating not only the domestic market but also the hearts of international consumers. The company's products are now successfully sold in Mongolia and China, where Russian ice cream is in high demand," Andrey Fedchenko, Managing Director, Eskimos LLC.
Ice cream production consists of eight stages. Eskimos’ production facilities with modern, high-tech equipment, allow the company to control each stage of production. The company makes its products exclusively from natural fruits and Siberian berries, completely excluding vegetable fats.
According to Elena Bragova, head of REC Representative Office in Novosibirsk, Russian ice cream exports are demonstrating impressive growth.
"Russian ice cream is a popular and beloved delicacy in China. Imports to China grow every year. In fact, it has nearly quadrupled over the past two years. Why is Russian ice cream so prized by Chinese residents? Customers praise its creamy, natural flavor and high-quality ingredients," Elena Bragova.
Eskimos' collaboration with REC began in 2017 and allowed it to expand its geographic reach. Specifically, the exporter participated in international exhibitions and business missions (Belarus, Mongolia, and China) and received analytical services on the My Export platform.
"Eskimos is a flagship company in region's food production industry. It pursues an active marketing strategy, skillfully utilizing the services from Export Support Center and Russian Export Center. During business missions and exhibitions, I have repeatedly witnessed how our company's products have elicited enthusiastic responses from foreign businesses. I am confident that Tomsk ice cream, as part of the national Made in Russia promotion program, will find fans in many other countries around the world," Alexander Belyaev, Director, Tomsk Region Export Support Center.
Company's management views the certificate as an important step in developing its export potential.
"Tomsk ice cream must be present in at least ten countries to successfully implement our export strategy," Andrey Fedchenko.
Company's immediate plans include expanding its supply geography to the UAE and Thailand. Competition in existing markets remains low, creating favorable conditions for further growth and development.
The Made in Russia mark is an official quality mark, guaranteeing the high standards and quality of products developed and manufactured in the Russian Federation. To use it, companies do not need to undergo additional checks by REC. To obtain a free certificate, they simply need to submit an application on the REC website, attaching the required documents electronically, and sign the automatically generated form. The certificate is awarded in one of five categories, namely quality, reliability, uniqueness, environmental friendliness, and organic origin.
