As part of the Russian National Pavilion program and the promotion of domestic products abroad, Russian Export Center (REC, VEB Group) officially opened two retail stores in Shanghai under the Made in Russia brand.
"China remains a strategically important market for Russian exporters. Interest in our products, from natural foods to everyday goods, is growing every year. Our goal is to provide Chinese consumers with original, high-quality products that meet the high standards of the Made in Russia brand. We offer products that are difficult to find in regular stores or on major e-commerce platforms. For example, you can try and purchase natural honey under the Zyuganovs’ Traditions since the 17th Century brand—a product with a rich history and impeccable quality, created according to old recipes," Alexey Solodov, Vice President, Russian Export Center (REC).
The stores with a floor area of 139 and 85 square meters offer a wide range of products (approximately 700 SKUs) from 60 Russian manufacturers. These include confectionery, canned goods, honey, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, dairy products, healthy eating products, oils and fats, perfumes, and much more.
The stores were launched as part of the Organization and Development of Retail Stores (Shelves) for Made in Russia Products in Foreign Countries program. The project aims to strengthen Russia's export potential and introduce high-quality local goods to foreign consumers. Plans include further expansion of the chain in China and other countries.
REC is actively expanding its network of stores. Ten retail stores are now operating as part of the expansion of the Russian National Pavilion project in China.
The pavilions are located in China, Vietnam, the UAE, Egypt, Türkiye, and Saudi Arabia. Russian companies selected to participate in the program enjoy support from Russian Export Center in finding partners, promoting and organizing sales in major retail chains, marketplaces, and other channels, as well as other assistance necessary for organizing supplies.
