Afanasy captivate the world market with REC: a $53 million contract with Iran and participation in World Food Istanbul 2024

In 2024, Afanasy, a large multi-product holding from the Tver Region, continues to actively develop its export activities with support from the Russian Export Center (REC, part of VEB.RF). This year, the company has already achieved significant success, signing a contract with an Iranian buyer worth over $53 million. The success of the deal was the result of the active participation of the REC in the negotiations.

In addition, in 2024, Afanasy actively participates in international events aimed at promoting exports. The company presented its products at the largest food and processing technologies exhibition, World Food Istanbul 2024. REC also provided support to Afanasy for placement in national stores on foreign electronic trading platforms.

The brewery with almost half a century of history, offering more than 20 different types of beer, as well as kvass and cider is the flagship of the enterprise. Afanasy's products are known not only in Russia, but also abroad, including the CIS countries and far abroad, such as Türkiye, China, Iran, Israel, Bulgaria and Cyprus.

The holding has been actively cooperating with the REC since 2018, participating in exhibition events and business missions, as well as using services to find foreign buyers on My Export digital platform. Thus, in 2023, within the framework of this program, a contract was concluded with a Turkish company worth more than $ 15 million.

"Now, even when it has become more difficult to export goods, our export volumes have grown significantly. We continue to actively cooperate with Turkey and have signed a contract with a major distributor. Now beer and kvass from Afanasy are available on almost the entire Mediterranean coast of Turkey," Sergey Chistyakov, head of the foreign economic activity department.

In addition, cooperation with China is being established, and Afanasy products have already gained popularity in Iran. Due to local traditions, deliveries of alcoholic beverages to this country are impossible, but non-alcoholic beer, including the specially developed Tverskoy BEAR variety, hit the spot in Iran.

"We are in constant contact with the company. The holding actively participates in business missions and exhibition events of the REC Group. For example, during the first business mission to Iran, the company was able to conclude three export contracts at once. Afanasy LLC is a shining example of how to effectively use federal and regional support tools for business development," Sergey Agayev, head of the REC regional business development project.

Cooperation of Afanasy with the Russian Export Center demonstrates a successful approach to expanding export opportunities and strengthening positions in international markets, which is an important step for development of domestic production.
