REC Brought Russian Fashion Brands to China

December 12, 2025

The first Discover Russia event took place in Beijing on December 12. Russian Export Center (REC, VEB.RF Group) organized a culinary and fashion show at the Russian Embassy. Each collection reflected the values of the Made in Russia national brand, praising high quality and authenticity of products, regional distinctiveness, and a rich cultural heritage.

"Russian designers have already left their mark on the global fashion scene. We know these names and fashion houses, and they're familiar to our international partners. Today, the global market is being captured by a new generation of fashion brands—our pride and an example of how even a small, local company can grow into a recognizable global brand. Young designers skillfully reinterpret unique Russian heritage in a contemporary way. They draw inspiration from Russian art, architecture, and painting," Veronika Nikishina, Head of Russian Export Center.

"Our event is called Discover Russia. And that's also unusual. Our Chinese friends know us well. We are good neighbors—we've lived side by side for centuries. In China, Russian culture, literature, music, history, and geography are well known. But never before has an event like today's been held on the Embassy premises," Igor Morgulov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the People's Republic of China.

The most dynamic fashion houses presented designer collections of clothing and accessories.

JM Studio opted for natural fabrics and subdued shades, combining St. Petersburg's restraint with global trends.

Amber Fashion House brought amber-embellished dresses to Beijing—works of jewelry art. Combined with ethnic patterns and elegant silhouettes, the collection reflects Russian identity and the relevance of traditions in the modern world.

ARLIGENT presented experimental looks with asymmetrical designs, leather, oversized fits, and monochrome shades, as well as a wide range of tracksuits.

UMMAYA offers a discreet and laconic combination of freedom, cultural values, national traditions, and femininity. Each piece is meticulously crafted, down to the smallest detail, in terms of cut, color palette, and various fabrics.

Polina Repik, a Moscow-based brand, helps women to present themselves in any situation, combining femininity, modernity, and comfort.

Sofia Enidunaeva's premium clothing embodies the Russian soul through unique structured forms and craftsmanship. The brand is renowned for its structured dresses, handcrafted without repetition, featuring a perfect cut, fit, and luxurious fabrics. The collections are inspired by the richness of fairytale motifs and the grandeur of Russian nature.

Avant-garde, often provocative, Viva Vox uses signature prints in its designs and works brilliantly with fur and leather.

The vibrant palette of Russian fashion designers at the Discover Russia show was complemented by a collection of folk arts and crafts. Yelets Lace, Torzhok Gold Embroidery, Nizhny Novgorod Embroidery, Golden Thread of Pomorye, and other domestic brands harmoniously blended into the canons of true style.

Visitors were particularly interested in the artistic pieces made of simbircite from Ammond, tableware from Gzhel Association, and the lacquer miniatures from Fedoskino Factory.

The gastronomic part of Discover Russia featured Miratorg, Logika Moloka, Russkiy Krab, Makfa, United Confectioners, Belyov Pastila, Volshebnitsa, Abrau-Durso, Fanagoria, Hammer+Sickle, Ladoga, Narzan, Yagody Karelii, and EkoNiva.

Russian Export Center (REC, VEB Group) is a government institution that supports non-resource, non-energy export. It provides companies from various industries with both financial and non-financial assistance at all stages of entering international markets, including as part of the International Cooperation and Export national project. Most services offered by the REC Group are available online on My Export digital platform. Businesses have access to training on all aspects of export activities through the REC Export School, part of the Group. REC is also responsible for the key functions of supporting and implementing the Made in Russia program.
