The operator of Russian National Pavilion in Egypt continues a series of business negotiations with Russian companies following the 17th International Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum 2026, which took place in Kazan from May 12 to 17.
During the forum, the pavilion operator held expert consultations with more than 25 Russian companies interested in entering the Egyptian market. Participants were provided with up-to-date information on doing business, product certification requirements, supply chains, and mechanisms for finding reliable partners in Egypt. Participants included manufacturers of chocolate and confectionery, honey, pulses, tea, beverages, dairy products, dietary supplements, and vegetable oils.
A key stage of the program included visits to leading industrial enterprises in Tatarstan. The pavilion operator visited the Kazan Fat Plant, one of Russia's largest oil and fat manufacturers. The parties discussed prospects for supplying refined and unrefined sunflower oil to Egypt. The company, founded in 1996, is a modern, full-cycle complex that includes procurement and processing of sunflower and rapeseed, oil production, and production of sauces, ketchups, and jams. Its products are certified and meet Russian and European standards. The company exports to over 20 countries.
A visit was also made to the Kazan Dairy Plant, part of the MILKOM dairy production and processing company (Komos Group). The Egyptian delegate toured the production lines, sampled products, and discussed with holding's representatives market entry. MILKOM is the fourth-largest milk processor in Russia. In 2024, holding's capacity amounted to nearly 523,000 tons. A wide range of whole-milk and fermented milk products, cheeses, cottage cheese, and desserts, including a Halal line, are manufactured under Selo Zelenoye, Toptyzhka, Kezskiy Syrzavod (Cheese Factory), Angelato, and other brands. Komos Group products are supplied to 74 regions of the Russian Federation and 11 foreign countries.
Following the visits, the parties will continue negotiations to agree on commercial terms and supply logistics. The participation of a representative of the Russian national pavilion in Egypt at the KazanForum 2026 allowed Russian manufacturers to gain up-to-date insights into the Middle East market, establish new business contacts, and outline certain steps to strengthen trade and economic ties between Russia and Egypt.
Russian national pavilion in Egypt, supported by Russian Export Center (REC), is a key element of the infrastructure for promoting domestic products abroad. With the participation of a specialized operator, the platform provides exporters with full-cycle support: from displaying samples and consulting to concluding foreign trade contracts, marketing promotion, and integrating products into local retail chains.
