On March 17–18, Russian Export Center (REC, VEB.RF Group) will host the international business mission Smart Cities in Bangkok, targeting the Thai and Southeast Asian markets. Eighteen companies from Moscow, St. Petersburg, the Kaliningrad Region, Udmurtia, Perm Krai, and Novosibirsk Region will participate in the event under the Made in Russia national brand.
Thailand was chosen as a host country due to its ongoing large-scale digital transformation program. For the past eight years, Thailand has been participating in the creation of a smart city network among ASEAN countries. As part of the Eastern Economic Corridor initiative, the kingdom plans to invest approximately $60 billion in infrastructure projects.
The Russian delegation will offer the local market geoanalytical systems for urban planning, the demand for which is rapidly growing due to the needs of transport management and resource monitoring.
The portfolio of products presented by Russian companies also included educational platforms, satellite monitoring systems, ONEPLAN communications network planning software, the DigiCity digital urban management platform, terminals, and a line of MES Ethernet switches.
Telecommunications infrastructure development in the Asia-Pacific region is accelerating thanks to investments in 5G networks and data center construction. Southeast Asia, including Thailand, is projected to have approximately 680 million 5G subscribers by 2030.
Participants will hold B2B negotiations with potential clients from Thailand. Companies submitted applications for participation in this and other international exhibitions digitally through the state-run My Export platform. Russian Export Center (REC) not only provides support for participants at the exhibition but also co-finances a significant portion of the companies' participation costs. Furthermore, Center's experts ensure high-quality networking by proactively selecting relevant buyers and distributors for each exporter.
Russian Export Center (REC, VEB Group) is a government institution that supports non-resource, non-energy export. It provides companies from various industries with both financial and non-financial assistance at all stages of entering international markets, including as part of the International Cooperation and Export national project. Most services offered by the REC Group are available online on My Export digital platform. Businesses have access to training on all export aspects at REC Export School, part of the Group. REC is also responsible for the key functions of supporting and implementing Made in Russia program.
