Mayak, Russian agro-industrial giant, has confirmed the quality of its products with the Made in Russia mark

January 14, 2026

Mayak, a 36-year-old company and a leader in healthy food production, was awarded the voluntary Made in Russia national brand certificate for quality. This recognition is further proved the high quality of company's products. The company has not only been active in foreign markets for over 25 years but, according to Russian Export Center (REC, VEB Group), also stimulates the innovative development of Russia's agricultural sector.

The company, located in Zernograd in the Rostov Region, began its operations by exporting sunflower seeds and is now a full-cycle manufacturer with 40 skus. Its most significant achievements include development of its own lentil variety, Donskaya Krasnozernaya, which is now grown in 13 regions of the country. The company also pioneered the production of gluten-free flour and, in 2024, patented a unique technology for producing plant-based meat (four types of products). In 2025, the company certified organic production (eight types of products), and expanded its healthy food line to eight more.

Expanding into international markets has always been a driving force for Mayak's innovation. One such example was an unusual order from Italian pasta makers for corn flour. By fine-tuning the milling process to meet their specific requirements, the company mastered the production of high-quality semolina (polenta), and the flour from the ground polenta was ideal for pasta makers. Later, a similar milling process was ordered for chickpea, pea, and lentil flour, allowing Mayak to supply up to 80% of its milling output to pasta. Another breakthrough was the development of a patented plant-based meat, which responded to an Israeli company's request for extruded chickpeas for hummus.

MAYAK products are already available in 117 stores in Belarus, as well as in Egyptian retail chains under its own brand. Despite intense competition, the company's lentils, made from raw materials from the Don region, are consistently superior in quality to Turkish counterparts, as confirmed by its international partners. Currently, the company's main export markets are Belarus, Türkiye, Egypt, Armenia, and Iran. The company plans to expand its export activities to China, Vietnam, and Iran, actively monitoring markets and registering trademarks.

In establishing itself as a major exporter, Mayak PKF faced a key challenge: the high cost of participation in international exhibitions. Today, the company actively utilizes state support measures implemented by Russian Export Center.

In particular, the company uses the services on My Export digital platform. On the platform, MAYAK PKF places its products on the shelves of REC's National Pavilions in Dubai, Cairo, Shanghai, and Istanbul. The company regularly participates in international exhibitions organized by REC for domestic companies, which has enabled it to secure new contracts. It actively participates in Center's seminars and webinars.

MAYAK launched it Exporters' Club, uniting processors and agricultural manufacturers to fulfill large export orders.

"The Made in Russia certificate holds the highest hopes for expanding into foreign markets, as it is arguably the most powerful marketing tool today! The prospects for exporting Russian products are undeniable, as the entire world knows that Russian grain and its processed products are of the highest quality! And with state support, Russian manufacturers are destined to conquer foreign markets, and products bearing the Made in Russia logo will become the most sought-after in the world, it's reality!" Lyubov Zheleznaya, Commercial Director.

To receive a free Made in Russia certificate, a company does not need to undergo additional checks by the Russian Export Center. All that is required is to submit an application on the REC website, attaching the required documents electronically, and sign the automatically generated form. The certificate is awarded based on five key criteria, namely quality, reliability, uniqueness, environmental friendliness, and organicity. For more information about the Made in Russia program and the certification requirements, please visit  the REC website.

Russian Export Center (REC, VEB.RF Group) is a government institution that supports non-resource and non-energy export. It provides companies from various industries with both financial and non-financial support at all stages of entering international markets, including as part of the International Cooperation and Export national project. Most services offered by the REC Group are available online on My Export digital platform. The REC is also responsible for the primary functions of supporting and implementing the Made in Russia program, and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia coordinates the program within the International Cooperation and Export national project.
