An international business mission organized by Russian Export Center (REC, VEB.RF Group) has been launched in the Armenian capital. Over the course of two days, March 11 and 12, 17 domestic companies will present their export potential in the agro-industrial complex and consumer goods (CG) segments.
The business program opened with a conference entitled Export Opportunities and Prospects for Cooperation in the Agricultural and Consumer Goods Sectors in Armenia. Representatives of relevant agencies, including the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia, the Russian Embassy, the Russian Trade Mission, as well as experts from the Ministry of Economic Development and the Ministry of Agriculture, participated in the discussion. Participants discussed current trade dynamics and new opportunities for cooperation, noting that by the end of 2025, Russia's share of Armenia's foreign trade reached approximately 35–40%.
"REC business missions in Armenia have already become an effective platform for direct dialogue, facilitating the conclusion of real contracts. Based on last year's results, Russia remains the republic's key trading partner, accounting for approximately 40% of foreign trade, and we are convinced that the potential for our cooperation is significantly greater. REC Representative Office in Armenia has been operating for four years now, and our goal is to help companies find partners and implement joint projects in the context of transforming global trade," Vigen Yenokyan, Head of REC Representative Office in the Republic of Armenia.
The mission showcases a wide range of products: from sauces, preserves, and tea to high-tech skincare and autoclaves, dietary supplements, and sports nutrition. The updated national brand promotion format allows Russian companies to stand out on Armenian retail shelves, guaranteeing consumers high standards of quality and reliability. The event program includes over 150 targeted meetings with potential buyers and representatives of local retail chains, as well as visits to the production facilities of Armenian partners.
"Russia is Armenia's main trading partner, with a key position in our economic relations. We see significant potential for cooperation in food, beauty, and pharmaceuticals. This potential can be realized through joint projects and cooperation chains in the agricultural sector. The Armenian government is pursuing a policy aimed at creating a comfortable business environment and simplifying procedures for companies from EAEU member states. I am confident that today's meeting will contribute to further development of our ties and improvement of shared prosperity," Narek Hovakimyan, Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Armenia.
To provide practical support to participants, the mission includes experts from VTB Armenia, Wildberries, and the Federal Customs Service of Russia. These specialists are available to answer businesses' questions in real time on all aspects of foreign economic activity, from organizing cross-border payments and logistics to the specifics of entering e-commerce platforms.
