Russian Export Center (REC, VEB Group), together with a partner company operating the national pavilion, opened a new Made in Russia store in Shanghai, China, fitted with a full-service bakery. The store is located on Qinghe Road, Jiading District.
This is the first store under the Made in Russia national brand to feature Russian bread production. Baked goods are manufactured using traditional Russian techniques in small batches every day. Bakers were trained by a specialist from a major Russian flour exporter.
"Chinese consumers are more likely to choose products with a history. That's why, in the case of the fifth Made in Russia store in Shanghai, the bakery with fermented dough technology is particularly important. This reflects an ancient cultural logic shared by our countries, where bread has always been and remains a symbol of life and family," Alexey Solodov, Vice President, Russian Export Center.
The Made in Russia store in Shanghai will also offer chocolate, confectionery, natural honey, vegetable oils, mineral water, juices, and other beverages. Manufactures include United Confectioners, Akkond, Amta, Baltika, Efko, and Makfa.
Since 2025, Russian Export Center, together with its Chinese partner, has opened four Made in Russia stores in Shanghai, one of which is located in the city's largest Shanghai Global Harbor shopping mall. In total, there are 19 official stores under the national brand operating in China.
The expansion of the Made in Russia retail chain offering unique formats, such as full-service bakeries, demonstrates the effectiveness of Russian Export Center's program to support Russian export and the growing popularity of Russian goods in the Chinese market.
Russian Export Center (VEB Group), which also includes the Russian Agency for Export Credit and Investment Insurance (EXIAR), Eximbank of Russia, and Export School, is a state institution supporting non-resource, non-energy export (NRE) and provides domestic companies with financial and non-financial assistance at all stages of entering international markets.
The REC Group services are available as part of the International Cooperation and Export national project. Most of these services are available on the My Export digital platform.
