The grand opening of a fair showcasing Russian goods under the Made in Russia brand took place in Beijing's historic Yabao Road district. The event was organized by the Chaoyang District People's Government with the support of Russian Embassy in China. Its goal is to strengthen trade ties and expand the presence of domestic products in the Chinese market.
The fair, held under the Sharing a Large Market, Exporting to China motto, will run from February 6 to 11, 2026. The operator of the exhibition featuring Russian goods was Heilongjiang Transportation Investment International Logistics Trade Group Co., Ltd., a key partner of Russian Export Center (REC, VEB.RF Group) within the framework of Russian National Pavilions Abroad and Retail. Organization and Development of Made in Russia Stores Abroad programs. The company already successfully operates a network of Made in Russia retail stores in Beijing and Harbin.
The choice of location is strategic. Yabao Street has been a key hub for cross-border trade in northern China since the 1980s. With an annual trade volume of over $10 billion, the area is rightfully considered the golden channel of Sino-Russian trade.
"Participating in the Beijing fair is part of our long-term strategy to develop a partner network of outlets promoting Made in Russia pavilions and stores within China. We're not just selling goods, but creating a new culture of consuming Russian products, offering Chinese buyers a quality guarantee backed by a certificate. Using historic trading platforms like Yabao.lu allows us to be closer to the end consumer and effectively develop our exports," Alexey Solodov, Vice President, Russian Export Center.
The exhibition is divided into four thematic zones, revealing the potential of Russian exports:
Trade zone: direct sales of a wide range of food products and everyday goods from residents of the national pavilion.
Lifestyle Aesthetics Zone: Showcasing Eurasian interior aesthetics, including Russian birch wood and contemporary furniture.
Artistic Zone: creative industries, folk crafts and brands of Eurasian artisans.
Interaction Zone: interactive activities for the whole family, calligraphy and folk craft workshops in anticipation of the Spring Festival (Chinese New Year).
The range of products from Russian manufacturers presented at the fair includes dozens of SKUs, from confectionery and groceries to beverages and everyday goods, including those under recognizable brands such as Krokant, Alenka, Uncle Vanya, and Makfa, as well as natural honey, vegetable oils, and dairy products.
The participation of the Russian Export Center partner in the Beijing fair was made possible by the REC's extensive program to develop Russian national pavilions and specifically promote domestic products abroad. Starting in 2025, not only food products but also industrial products and services can be showcased in the pavilions. This provides the possibility to present Russia's modern image to Chinese partners and end consumers—from traditional food products to cutting-edge technologies.
Promoting products under the Made in Russia brand at such events is part of the REC's consistent efforts to increase the recognition of high-quality domestic goods abroad. Since 2025, the Center has been actively developing its ‘on-shelf’ presence in China, creating a seamless infrastructure from wholesale to retail.
Russian Export Center (REC, VEB.RF Group) is a government institution that supports non-resource and non-energy exports. It provides companies from various industries with both financial and non-financial support at all stages of entering international markets, including as part of the International Cooperation and Export national project. Most services offered by the REC Group are available online on My Export digital platform. Businesses have access to training on all aspects of export activities through the REC Export School, part of the Group. REC is also responsible for the key functions of supporting and implementing the Made in Russia program.
